That's L14 Mignonette Green isn't it? The car is just awesome and the interior......... Oh.......my............god..........The seats make me drool. That is what mine looked like years ago, very, very nice.

Thanks for adding the pics,i was only able to attach one.The car has been in NY at least 33 plus years.My father in law had owned the car before me,untill it became to much for him to handle.Its his to drive when ever he wants.The car originaly was bought in Germany,Eduard Winter VWGeneral Vertretung,Dealership in West Berlin.I became the Third owner. L14 Original paint Im handy at working on cars,but im lucky i have a friend who has only ever owned VWs and hes a great mechanic,loves wkg on the car. When you get time, can you Register your 59, even if you don't have a Birth Certificate, just the Year, Color, Vin #(omit the last two digits) where it came from, etc. You can use what is currently posted as a reference.
